Lipi Kids is designed to collect minimal personal data from children. We only gather information necessary to enhance the app experience or meet legal requirements.

We may collect:

Non-Personal Data (from children and parents):

  • App usage statistics (e.g., most-played games)
  • Device type and operating system version
  • Crash logs and performance data
  • Approximate location (country-level only for compliance)
  • Device identifiers (e.g., IP address, anonymized device ID)

Personal Data (from parents/guardians only):

  • Email address (for support, progress sync, purchase receipts)
  • Optional username or nickname (not a real name)
  • Consent verification data (e.g., email confirmation, SMS OTP)

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children unless necessary and only with verified parental consent.

3. Parental Consent

If personal information from a child is needed (e.g., for login or progress saving), we will:

  • Obtain verified parental consent through email confirmation or SMS OTP (India-specific)
  • Provide clear options for parents to review, delete, or modify the data

4. How We Use Information

We use collected data to:

  • Improve app features and user experience
  • Fix bugs, crashes, and technical issues
  • Track progress and unlock achievements
  • Provide support services to parents/guardians
  • Send updates, notifications, or policy changes to parents
  • Share progress reports with teachers if used for school programs (only with parent/school consent)

We do not:

  • Show third-party advertisements
  • Sell or rent personal data
  • Track users across apps or websites

5. Sharing Information

We do not share personal data except:

  • With service providers (e.g., analytics, cloud storage) under strict data protection agreements
  • If legally required by courts, government authorities, or regulatory bodies

  • AWS Cloud Services

6. International Users & Data Transfers

If you use Lipi Kids from outside India:

  • Your data may be transferred to and stored in countries like India, the United States, or others where our servers and service providers are located
  • We ensure appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent under GDPR/DPDP, for international data transfers

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Non-personal data is retained as long as necessary for app improvements and analytics.

Personal data is retained until:

  • It is no longer needed for its purpose
  • A parent requests deletion
  • As per mandatory legal retention periods

8. Parental Rights

Parents have the right to:

  • Review personal data collected about their child
  • Request correction or deletion

9. In-App Purchases & Parental Controls

  • Optional paid features are protected by parental gates
  • No purchases can be made without adult approval or device authentication

10. Data Security

We prioritize child safety and data security through:

  • Secure servers with restricted access
  • Regular vulnerability scans and audits
  • Strict access control for personal data

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Parents/guardians will be notified via:

13. Account Deletion

Users may delete their account and all associated personal data at any time directly from the Lipi Kids app by navigating to Settings → Profile → Delete Account. Once deleted, all personal information, progress, and related data will be permanently removed from our systems, except where retention is required by law. Deleted accounts cannot be restored.

  • Once a deletion request is made, the account and all associated personal data will be scheduled for permanent deletion after 90 days.
  • During this 90-day period, if the user logs back into their account, the deletion request will be cancelled and the account will be reactivated.
  • After the 90-day period has passed without login activity, all data will be permanently erased from our systems, except where retention is required by law.

Android users can also request deletion by contacting us at Support@lipi.game if in-app deletion is unavailable.

14. Subscriptions and Payments

Lipi Kids offers auto-renewable subscription plans (monthly and yearly) to provide access to premium features.

  • Apple App Store (iOS/iPadOS): Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing cycle. Renewal charges will be applied within 24 hours prior to the end of the current billing period. Users can manage or cancel their subscriptions through their Apple ID account settings.
  • Google Play Store (Android): Payment will be charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled. Users can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time through their Google Play account settings.

15. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party services to improve the functionality and performance of Lipi Kids, including but not limited to Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and Google Play Services. These services may collect anonymized usage data in accordance with their respective privacy policies.

16. Children’s Privacy

Lipi Kids is designed for children and complies with applicable child data protection laws, including COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, U.S.) and GDPR-Kids (European Union).

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without verified parental consent.
  • Parents and guardians can review their child’s information and request its deletion at any time by contacting us at support@lipi.game.
